Some Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot political parties came together in the buffer zone on Wednesday.
At the meeting hosted by the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), “various aspects of security and energy-oriented geopolitical developments and their possible reflections on the Cyprus issue” were discussed.
Leaders and representatives of a number of Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot political parties met at the Ledra Palace Hotel in the buffer zone as part of routine bi-communal meetings organized by the Slovakian Embassy.
According to a joint statement, the participating political parties expressed their views on the topic “How will security and energy issues affect the Cyprus Peace Process?” proposed by the Republican Turkish Party, which hosted the meeting.
The political party representatives discussed “various aspects of geopolitical developments with a focus on security and energy and their possible implications for the Cyprus issue”.
The next meeting will be hosted by the Democratic Alignment Cooperation of Democratic Forces-DEPA from South Cyprus on January 29, 2025.
