State officials issue message to mark Medicine Day

State and government officials have all issued messages to mark the 14th of March Medicine Day.

The messages praised the devotion of the doctors and the services that they provide to people.

President Ersin Tatar issued a message to mark the occasion by stating that the importance of health is better understood in times when humanity is tested by natural disasters such as pandemics and earthquakes.

He emphasized the importance of the services provided by doctors and healthcare professionals who work devotedly day and night for human health and life, and when necessary, serve at the cost of their lives in disaster areas.

Pointing to the importance of improving the working conditions and environments of healthcare professionals and strengthening the infrastructure, Tatar said that everyone must work to eliminate the deficiencies of the health system.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre in his message congratulated physicians and healthcare workers on the day.

He said that as the Republic’s Assembly, they have always stood by healthcare professionals and will continue to do so.

Emphasizing that health is the most important value in life, Töre said, “When there is no health, everything else loses its meaning. During the pandemic process, we realized the value of our physicians and healthcare professionals who work hard day and night, making great sacrifices to protect our most important value in life. I sincerely celebrate the March 14th Medicine Day of all our healthcare professionals and thank them endlessly for all the services they provide to our society.”

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel in his message stated that all healthcare professionals, especially physicians, who work with great devotion and sacrifice, fulfil a vital duty for human life.

Noting that since the first day they took office as the government they have been working devotedly to overcome the problems in the healthcare system, Üstel said that in addition to maximizing health services, they continue their efforts to establish an effective and high quality health system, to enable health workers to serve in better conditions, to ensure that the public receives the health services they deserve and to create a more contemporary health system without interruption.

“I congratulate the holiday of our physicians, whose only concern is to serve humanity, who perform their profession with great love, who stand by our people in war, epidemics, natural disasters and all kinds of difficulties,” said Üstel.
