President Ersin Tatar spoke has said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is a reality.
He was speaking at the opening of the 7th Istanbul Economic Summit held at Çırağan Palace before wrapping up his contacts in Istanbul.
President Ersin Tatar attended the 7th Istanbul Economic Summit on the last leg of his visit to Türkiye on his return trip to Kyrgyzstan.
During his speech at the event, Tatar emphasized that the future of Cyprus should be based on cooperation between the two states on the island.
Tatar pointed out that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was a reality.
“Recognition can wait for another day. A political solution can wait for another day. But what needs to be done now is the cooperation of two states, two authorities on all important issues, including natural resources,” said Tatar.
He emphasized that only with this understanding; could a permanent solution be reached in Cyprus.
Stating that the country’s economy is developing despite all obstacles, Tatar thanked those who invested in the country despite all embargoes and isolation.
