President Ersin Tatar attended an event organized by the Civil Defence Organization’s İskele District Office.
Speaking there, the President praised the services of permanent staff and volunteers to the Civil Defence Organization and the organizational structure of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Noting that the well-disciplined staff of the Civil Defence Organization were always on the frontline during natural disasters like floods and fires, Tatar expressed his belief that the Civil Defence Organization will obtain a powerful organizational structure with the technological developments.
Meanwhile, the President also attended the opening of the Handicrafts Exhibition of the Life-Long Education Centre in İskele.
Addressing the event, Tatar noted that the works which reflect the Turkish Cypriot People’s traditions greatly contribute to the country’s economy, tourism, culture and art sectors.
He also referred to the great services being given for passing on cultural heritage to the future generations.
