President Ersin Tatar, who is in New York as part of the 79th United Nations General Assembly, began his contacts.
The President attended a dinner organized by the Turkish-American National Steering Committee in honour of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, where they consulted on the Cyprus issue and other international developments.
The time and date for Tatar’s meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres have also been set.
Tatar and Guterres will meet on Saturday, September 28, at 6:30pm TRNC time.

As part of his contacts, the President attended a dinner organized by the Turkish-American National Steering Committee in honour of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
President Tatar met with President Erdoğan and consulted on the Cyprus issue and other international developments at the dinner, held at Rockefeller Plaza.
In addition to Turkish officials, President Tatar also met with other high-level participants and members of the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot communities living in the US.
Meanwhile, President Ersin Tatar is scheduled to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on September 28.
The meeting with Guterres is expected to begin at 6:30pm TRNC time.
Before his bilateral meeting with President Tatar, Guterres is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides.
During his visit to New York, President Tatar will hold a series of meetings, attend various events, and give interviews to the press.
President Tatar is accompanied in New York by Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Special Representative Güneş Onar, Legal Affairs Advisor Sülen Karabacak, Confidence-Building Measures and Bilateral Technical Committees Coordinator Seniha Birand Çınar, and Foreign Press Officer Kerem Haser.
Tatar is expected to return to TRNC on Sunday, September 29, at 8pm.
