President Tatar expressed his concern over the increased armament activities of the Greek Cypriot Administration and its involvement in Israel’s expanding military actions.

In a statement regarding the steps taken by the Greek Cypriot Administration, which have the potential to make Cyprus a target, Tatar said, “I once again condemn with regret the unacceptable policies pursued by the Greek Cypriot leadership.”

He also commented on the docking of a U.S. aircraft carrier in Limassol, noting that this situation has provoked serious reactions not only from the Turkish side but also from the Greek Cypriot public.

Tatar also stressed that the Greek Cypriot leadership did not have the authority to make decisions that affect the security of the Turkish Cypriot people.

President Ersin Tatar issued a statement on Monday regarding the unilateral and irresponsible steps taken by the Greek Cypriot Administration, which pose a danger of making Cyprus a target.

Tatar said that it was alarming how the leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration Nikos Christodoulides, in his delusion of becoming a regional actor, has been complicit in Israel’s ongoing crimes against humanity over the past year as part of its genocidal efforts.

“I am following with concern the irresponsible steps that the Greek Cypriot Administration continues to take, which have the potential to make Cyprus a target. I once again condemn with regret the unacceptable policies pursued by the Greek leadership” he said.

President Tatar reminded that both the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the Republic of Türkiye have issued warnings to the Greek Cypriot Administration to avoid taking steps that would jeopardize the security of the island.

Stating that the recent escalation of tensions by Israel, including political assassinations, has reached a point of potential total explosion in the Middle East crisis, Tatar said, “It is essential for Cyprus, one of the geographies closest to the center of violence, to at least maintain its neutrality to prevent the people living there from experiencing fears of attack. Unfortunately, the Greek Cypriot leadership has chosen the opposite approach, increasing its armament activities every day and aligning itself with actions that further expand Israel’s attacks, including the military exercises it conducted last week.”

Noting that at the current stage, South Cyprus had repeatedly demonstrated that it is a party to the crisis and complicit in the crimes against humanity, becoming a military hub for countries involved in the conflict, he pointed out that even civilian ports had been repurposed for military use.

Tatar also addressed the docking of a U.S. aircraft carrier in Limassol, stating that this situation has drawn serious reactions not only from the Turkish side but also from the Greek Cypriot public.

The President stressed that the Greek Cypriot leadership does not have the authority to make decisions that affect the security of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Addressing these countries by stating, “The engagements you have entered into with the Greek Cypriot side are not and will not be valid throughout the entire island”, Tatar stressed that the authority and sovereignty of the Greek Cypriot administration apply only to the southern part of Cyprus and that it cannot extend even one centimeter into the borders of the TRNC.

“Because of the competition among those who have allied themselves with the crimes against humanity, innocent and defenseless people, regardless of age or gender, are being massacred every day in front of the world’s eyes” the President noted.

“As the President of a people who have previously suffered massacres and genocidal attempts, I want to call for humanity to unite against this oppression. Supporting efforts to establish a lasting ceasefire, rather than perpetuating violence, would be one of the most significant contributions to humanity to end bloodshed and tears” Tatar added.
