President Ersin Tatar on Monday sent a message to the leader of Türkiye’s AK Party-President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over his party’s success in Sunday’s general election.

Erdoğan’s People’s Alliance which consists of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), the New Welfare Party (YRF) and the Great Unity Party (BBP), received 50.66% of the votes, with 273 potential lawmakers.

Tatar in his message also congratulated the Turkish people for holding the elections in a mature atmosphere and with such a high turnout.

He once again underlined the unbreakable bond that existed between the Turkish Cypriot people and motherland Türkiye, expressing the hope that the cooperation and solidarity that existed between the TRNC and Türkiye will be further strengthened in the period ahead.
