President Ersin Tatar attended the opening ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year for the Girne American University.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony President Tatar pointed to the events taking place in Palestine and emphasized the importance of peace, tranquility and security.

President Ersin Tatar gave the first lecture of the 2023-2024 academic year at the Girne American University.

During his speech the President emphased the imporance of unity.

Drawing attention to the events taking place in Palestine, Tatar emphasized the importance of peace, tranquility and security.

He said that everyone should respect the rights and laws of other peoples as well as their own, and expressed his sorrow at the developments taking place in Palestine.

Stating that what is happening in Palestine every day, the attacks and deaths remind him of what happened in Cyprus, Tatar once again emphasized the importance of peace and security.

Also touching upon the climate crisis, Tatar said that everyone should be more aware and responsible while using resources.

“We respect humanity therefore I call out to the states that selfishly consume these resources. We cannot turn a blind eye to someone’s reckless use of all resources” said Tatar.
