President Ersin Tatar on Thursday met online with the families of the Champion Angels who are in Adıyaman to follow the trial on the İsias Hotel case.

Speaking with the families of the Champion Angels via Skype on Thursday evening, President Ersin Tatar expressed his support for the trial process.

Noting that he had spoken with the Turkish Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç over the phone to convey how important this issue was for the Turkish Cypriot people, Tatar said that the pain felt by the country was great but that he believed that the independent Turkish Judiciary will do its part.

Stating that Turkish Justice Minister Tunç, who closely follows the issue, met with the chief prosecutor, President Tatar expressed his unwavering support to the end.

Tatar also said that he had visited the Gazimağusa Turk Maarif College, adding that it was important to keep the names and memories of the children alive.

“Our people are united on this issue,” said Tatar adding that what happened on the morning of February 6 has not been erased from anyone’s memories.
