President Ersin Tatar on Wednesday delivered a keynote speech at the panel titled “Competitive Industry with Artificial Intelligence: Strategies and Applications,” organized through the collaboration of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry and the November 15 Cyprus University.
Also addressing the ongoing Cyprus issue, Tatar reiterated the Turkish Cypriot side’s commitment to constructive dialogue and goodwill efforts.
Speaking at the panel, President Tatar emphasized the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of humanity and urged the Turkish Cypriot community to utilize available resources effectively to build a prosperous future.
Also touching upon the Cyprus issue and his recent meeting with his Greek Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulides, Tatar said that the Turkish Cypriot side was advocating for opening new opportunities.
He added however that the Greek Cypriot side prioritized transit passage issues instead.
“We came to discuss opening new doors, not transit crossings,” he stated, ruling out the possibility of allowing Greek Cypriots to use Erenköy for transit passage through to Prygos.
On the issue of AI, Tatar expressed curiosity about how AI might predict future global changes, using the example of whether AI could foresee the implications of Donald Trump potentially returning to the U.S. presidency.
He underscored AI’s potential to influence economics, politics, and crisis management, emphasizing its role in predicting and preventing future disasters.
“Artificial intelligence can guide humanity towards making better decisions and organizing a more prosperous future,” Tatar remarked.
He highlighted AI’s increasing integration into daily life and encouraged utilizing resources to foster freedom and prosperity for future generations.
The President concluded by reaffirming his administration’s dedication to ensuring a free and prosperous future for the Turkish Cypriot youth, rooted in the principles of innovation and resilience.
