Tatar holding contacts in Kyrgyzstan

President Ersin Tatar has said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is an independent Turkish state in the Eastern Mediterranean and an integral and inseparable part of the broader Turkic world.

Tatar who embarked on his contacts in Kyrgyzstan on Monday was speaking at the Energy Investments and Cooperation Conference held at the Manas University.

President Ersin Tatar was also awarded an honorary doctorate at the event.

Addressing guests at the conference in Bishkek, President Ersin Tatar touched upon the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people in Cyprus, highlighting the significance of the TRNC as an independent Turkish state in the Eastern Mediterranean.

He stressed the continuous and indomitable connection between TRNC and the larger Turkish world.

Expressing his excitement for being in Kyrgyzstan, he emphasized the emotional and historical ties, customs, traditions, and cultural richness shared with the people of Kyrgyzstan.

President Tatar acknowledged the significant support of Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadır Caparov in accepting the TRNC as an observer member of the Organisation of Turkic States and his Kyrgyz counterpart once again for his support.

Addressing the ongoing struggle in Cyprus, President Tatar emphasized the resilience of the Turkish Cypriot people, asserting their sovereignty and the necessity for them to have a say in the future of the island.

He also mentioned developments related to the transportation of water from Türkiye and major investments aimed at providing sustainable, high-quality energy to the TRNC.

President Tatar expressed the desire for continued reconciliation and peace in Cyprus and underscored the importance of the independent and sovereign state of the TRNC.

He reiterated the commitment to sovereignty, freedom, and independence, stating that they will never relinquish these principles.

President Tatar recalled the efforts of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in supporting the struggle of the Turkish Cypriots, advocating for their rights and interests in international forums for a lasting and sustainable agreement.

Highlighting the significance of Kyrgyzstan for the TRNC, President Tatar drew parallels between the struggles and hardships faced by the people of Kyrgyzstan and the Turkish Cypriots. He emphasized that the shared experiences and struggles have led to the establishment of a strong bond and unity.
