Later on Thursday, President Ersin Tatar delivered a conference at the Süleyman Demirel University.

He also pointed out that the Turkish Cypriot side’s policy was fully supported by Ankara as decades of talks for a federation had failed to yield any results.

The president emphasized that efforts to promote the recognition of the TRNC would continue and that the country’s observer membership to the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) was an important step achieved in that direction.

Following the conference, Tatar also received an honorary doctorate from the university.
