President Ersin Tatar is attending a series of events in Istanbul, Türkiye organised as part of celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the July 20 Cyprus Peace Operation.
On Tuesday morning, Tatar attended an international symposium at the Istanbul University.
President Tatar’s two-day itinerary includes participating in a reception organized by the Istanbul branch of the Cyprus Turkish Cultural Association under the auspices of the TRNC Istanbul Consulate.
President Tatar, upon his arrival in Istanbul, first met with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş.
He then visited the “Cyprus Through Documents” exhibition at Istanbul University and participated in the International Cyprus Symposium commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation at Istanbul University.
As part of his program tomorrow, he will attend and deliver a speech at the “Mark of Turkish Cypriots: Cyprus Peace Operation” event at Istanbul Topkapı University.
Additionally, Tatar will meet with members of the press in Istanbul.
President Tatar is expected to return tomorrow evening.
