President Ersin Tatar has called for restraint regarding the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Expressing deep concern and sorrow over the developments following the attacks in Israel, Tatar emphasized the need for a resolution to the issue through negotiations.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the president said that the Turkish Cypriot people are against all forms of terrorist acts.

He emphasized that it is not acceptable, especially to target civilians in armed attacks.

Tatar also noted that the long-standing issue of Israel-Palestine, which has been a festering wound in the region for years, highlights the importance of the peace and stability achieved in Cyprus through the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation.

Emphasizing their support for the resolution of regional and global issues through dialogue, in conjunction with Ankara, Tatar highlighted the significance of a strong Türkiye in the region and its potential contribution to the peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict.

President Tatar also drew attention to the fact that there are no winners in wars, stressing that civilian casualties have occurred, and it is imperative to put an end to this and resolve the issue through negotiations.
