Tatar meets with Erdoğan, expresses gratitude for the voicing of TCs’ just cause

President Ersin Tatar on Wednesday thanked his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the call he made in his address at the UN General Assembly for the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Tatar who met with Erodğan at the Türkevi, stressed that this call further strengthened the two-state solution policy and the honourable struggle.

“On behalf of myself, my country, and my people, I thank Turkish President Erdoğan for calling on the international community to recognize our state, as he did last year, in his speech at the 78th UN General Assembly on September 19,” the president said in a statement after the meeting.

He added that such a call further strengthened the Turkish Cypriot side’s two-state solution policy and honourable struggle.

Meanwhile, President Ersin Tatar also received the Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s Justice and Ruling Party who is also a former Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, former Prime Minister and current President of the Aksakallılar Council Binali Yıldırım.
