President Ersin Tatar said that the national goal is to strengthen and develop the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

He made the statement while he attended an event organized by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Patriotic Association.

President Ersin Tatar expressed his pleasure at seeing mayors from the Hatay region in Cyprus during his speech at the event.

He highlighted the strong ties between Turkish Cypriots and the people of Türkiye, emphasizing the goal of strengthening and developing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

President Tatar emphasized the importance of cooperation between the municipalities of the two countries and the significance of contacts and meetings.

He mentioned that initiatives taken by Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the United Nations General Assembly strengthened the state and provided a foundation for new national politics.

Referring to the ongoing development and progress in North Cyprus, including infrastructure investments, advancements in tourism and higher education, arrival of water from Türkiye, and the opening of a new airport, President Tatar stressed the need for unity and solidarity, while also expressing the belief that diplomatic recognition would come in the near future.

Also touching upon the February 6 earthquake that occurred in Türkiye and affected Hatay, President Tatar said that the common pain is great but added that the wounds have started to be healed.
