President Ersin Tatar emphasized that the sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriot people, the presence of Turkish troops, and the continuation of Türkiye’s guarantor status will never be compromised.
He stated that their primary goal is to ensure the sovereignty and survival of the Turkish Cypriot people, enabling them to move forward confidently into the future.
President Tatar met with Metin Demir, Chairman of the Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the accompanying delegation on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Tatar highlighted the support provided by the Republic of Türkiye and its institutions during the struggles faced by the Turkish Cypriot community in past years, describing it as a great source of inspiration.
He noted that, despite facing isolations, significant achievements have been made since the 1974 Peace Operation, and infrastructure in the TRNC continues to strengthen.
President Tatar reiterated their commitment to a two-state policy and affirmed that the Turkish Cypriots are as sovereign as the Greek Cypriots.
He stressed that the objective is to sustain the sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriot people, allowing them to secure their future with confidence.
Tatar also underlined that the sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriots, the presence of Turkish troops, and the continuity of Türkiye’s guarantor role are essential for maintaining stability, peace, and security.
He further emphasized the importance of strengthening the economic structure of the TRNC and expressed hope for increased support and cooperation from the business community.
Metin Demir, Chairman of the Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, for his part highlighted the significance of having a sovereign and independent Turkish state in the Eastern Mediterranean for the broader Turkish world. He expressed gratitude to President Tatar for his stance on the policy of a fully independent, two-state solution and assured that the Turkish business community remains supportive of the Turkish Cypriots in every aspect. Demir also provided updates to President Tatar on ongoing efforts and collaborations.
