Tatar received Mujahid Commanders Association

President Ersin Tatar received the head of the Mujahid  Commanders Association Gözkamaş Ergüneş and his accompanying delegation.

Tatar emphasized that the actions of the Mujahedeen Commanders are very valuable and will not be forgotten.

Speaking during the visit President Tatar said that for the past 50 years there has been peace, tranquillity and stability in Cyprus and this is thanks to Türkiye’s guarantorship and the presence of the Turkish army on the island.

Explaining that the Turkish Cypriots were excluded from the state at gunpoint 60 years ago and were subjected to genocide in order to turn Cyprus into a Hellenic island, Tatar stated that the Turkish Cypriots resisted under the leadership of the Mujahid Commanders.

He said that the necessary initiatives should be taken to award the Mujahids with the title of veteran as a reward for their sacrifices.

“No one should think that war is not possible during these times” said Tatar and noted that the Ukraine-Russia war broke out recently, while the conflicts between Israel and Palestine have been ongoing for years.

He also emphasized that for the struggles waged in the past for the future not to be jeopardize Türkiye’s guarantee is our red line.

Referring to his visit to Azerbaijan, President Tatar pointed out that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is an inseparable part of the Organization of Turkic States.
