President Ersin Tatar emphasized that they are making an extraordinary effort to introduce the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the outside world in the political sense.

President Tatar also said that he fully believes that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will take serious steps towards recognition with the further consolidation of the national will and the acceptance of the stance of the Turkish Cypriot people in terms of sovereignty.

President Ersin Tatar met with Mayor of Çorum, Halil İbrahim Aşkın and discussed efforts to promote the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) internationally.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with Türkiye and expressed gratitude to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for their support.

He also highlighted his participation in the summit of Heads of State in Kyrgyzstan as a significant step towards promoting the TRNC.

Tatar expressed confidence that with the consolidation of the national will and the acceptance of the Turkish Cypriot people’s sovereignty, the TRNC will make strides towards recognition.

He emphasized the role of economic, commercial and cultural contacts in raising awareness about the Turkish Cypriot people’s cause.

He also stressed the significance of informing younger generations about the Cyprus issue.

Mayor Aşkın for his part acknowledged the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people and invited President Tatar to Çorum, offering to help convey the message of “one nation, two states” to the world from there.

Tatar thanked Aşkın for his support and expressed his respect for the people of the region.
