Tatar receives Cyprus war veterans

President Ersin Tatar received Cyprus War Veterans from Türkiye.

Speaking during the visit Tatar said, “It is our duty to protect what was entrusted to us a result of our struggle and carry it to the future.”

President Ersin Tatar received a delegation from the Cyprus War Veterans from Türkiye and speaking during the visit, he said that as a result of the struggle waged by the Turkish Cypriot fighters and the support given to them by the Turkish armed forces, a state had been established.

“That state is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,” Tatar said, adding that it was their duty to preserve and protect this entity.

He also conveyed his thanks to Motherland Türkiye and the Turkic states that are contributing to efforts aimed at achieving international recognition for the TRNC.

Tatar added that they are working to further strengthen the TRNC state and that the efforts for the recognition of their sovereignty in the Eastern Mediterranean will continue.

“We are now maintaining our presence here as an independent Turkish state,” said President Tatar, adding that they will not allow games played by the EU to remove Türkiye from the island to be successful.
