President Ersin Tatar has been honoured with the “Honorary Award of the Year” by The Best of the Year awards organized by Radio Efebey in Türkiye.

The award was received on behalf of President Tatar by Zalihe Mendeli, the Consul General of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in Mersin, at the award ceremony held at Adana Yüreğir Cultural Centre.

In a written message sent since he couldn’t attend the award ceremony, President Ersin Tatar said that he has been making significant efforts to further strengthen the good relations between the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Cypriot people since taking office.

He mentioned the warmth, love, and hospitality he encountered during his travels across Anatolia, expressing that in his and the people’s eyes, the Turkish Cypriot people and the Turkish people are two inseparable parts of a whole.

President Tatar, despite all the oppression and attempted genocide in Cyprus, expressed his greatest wish for the continued strong relationship between motherland Türkiye and the Turkish Cypriot people, who have successfully preserved their Turkish identity, with the peace brought to the island through the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation.

He conveyed his belief that Türkiye and the TRNC will engage in larger projects in the new Turkish century, making an impact both in the Blue Homeland and on the international stage.

He also expressed his confidence that the thesis of the independent existence of the TRNC as one of two separate states on the island will be accepted internationally, especially by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

In his message, President Tatar sincerely thanked Efebey Radip for the “Honorary Award of the Year” presented to him and wished the station continued success in their endeavours.
