President Ersin Tatar received Maronite Archbishop Selim Sfeir and his accompanying delegation.

During the visit, Tatar highlighted the significant contribution of the Maronite community to the cultural and religious diversity of the country and emphasized the importance of living together in harmony and peace.

In his remarks, President Tatar emphasized that the different beliefs and cultural values in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) are safeguarded within the framework of the existing laws. He expressed that the Maronites have made an important contribution to the country’s cultural and religious diversity.

Tatar stressed the significance of maintaining and further strengthening the friendly relations between the Turkish Cypriot people and the Maronites, noting that this is of great value.

On the other hand, Maronite Archbishop Selim Sfeir pointed out the importance of efforts to develop relations between the communities.

He expressed his gratitude to President Tatar for his close attention and sensitivity towards the Maronite community, and also thanked him for his constructive attitude, which has strengthened mutual understanding and cooperation.
