President Ersin Tatar has said that new collaborations and contacts are important milestones in promoting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Tatar on Tuesday received and met with the President of the All Bureaucrats and Business People Federation (TÜMBİFED), Mehmet Hüsrev, and his accompanying delegation.

Receiving the delegation from TÜMBİFED, President Tatar emphasized that the ties between Türkiye and the TRNC have been strengthening over the years, highlighting that the Republic of Türkiye has made significant progress as a global power, and its development has reinforced the structure in the TRNC.

He expressed his belief that the contacts between the two countries will continue to increase.

“In order to sustain our presence in this geography as a Turkish state, it is necessary for our sovereignty and equal international status to be recognized. We can only be part of an international agreement in this way. We always share this with the international community with the support of the Republic of Türkiye. We will never say yes to an agreement based on a federal basis. The new policy is a policy of a two-state solution. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will continue on its path by becoming even stronger,” Tatar said.

The president also highlighted the importance of Türkiye’s support.

“Currently, we have taken our place as an observer member within the Organization of Turkic States. The new opportunities, contacts, and collaborations opened up by this situation are important milestones on the path to promoting the TRNC. Sharing this experience and knowledge with us is an important asset for the TRNC. Our greatest hope is to elevate all of this and build a more prosperous life,” Tatar concluded.
