A delegation from the Turkish World Mediators Association, including lawyers from Türkiye and Azerbaijan, is conducting various meetings in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

As part of its contacts, the delegation first visited President Ersin Tatar, followed by Chief Justice Narin Şefik.

Receiving the delegation on Tuesday, President Tatar indicated that the visit strengthens efforts for the recognition of the TRNC.

He also emphasized the need for a fairer world.

President Ersin Tatar held discussions with the delegation consisting of Yakup Erikel, President of the Turkish World Mediators Association, and members from Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, President Tatar emphasized the necessity of creating a fairer world and drew attention to the embargoes and obstacles imposed on the TRNC.

He also highlighted that the visit contributes to the recognition of the TRNC and stated, “There is a great injustice done to us. That’s why Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan often says, ‘The world is bigger than five. A fairer world is possible.’ The world needs to move towards a fairer platform.”

Yakup Erikel, the President of the Turkish World Mediators Association said, “Our goal is to meet with our legal colleagues in the TRNC and to increase legal communication between our countries through joint efforts in mediation or various legal fields.”

As part of their visit to the TRNC, the delegation from the Turkish World Mediators Association also held a meeting with Chief Justice Narin Şefik.

No statement was issued after that meeting.
