President Ersin Tatar welcomed delegations from the Turkish War Veterans, Martyrs’ Widows and Orphans Association, and the July 20th Cyprus Victory Celebration Solidarity and Culture Association to mark the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
President Tatar expressed the significance of the visit, stating, “If we are here today with our state, living in peace and tranquillity in the TRNC, it is because we act together with the Republic of Türkiye in protecting our national interests.”
During the meeting with the Turkish War Veterans, Martyrs’ Widows and Orphans Association delegation, President Tatar emphasized the importance of the TRNC-Türkiye solidarity and brotherhood.
He reiterated, “Our existence as a state and our peaceful life in the TRNC today are due to our cooperation with the Republic of Türkiye in safeguarding our national interests.”
President Tatar stressed the need for a solution in Cyprus to be based on the principle of two states.
He underscored the importance of acting in unison with Türkiye, a guarantor country, for the Turkish Cypriots.
Additionally, President Tatar received a delegation from the July 20th Cyprus Victory Celebration Solidarity and Culture Association, led by Retired Major General Cumhur Evcil.
He expressed his deep satisfaction with the delegation’s presence and their continued belief in the national cause on the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
Tatar highlighted the significant developments over the past 50 years, noting the TRNC’s ongoing progress in various fields despite international obstacles.
He remarked that in this era of communication, the reciprocal ties between the Republic of Türkiye and the TRNC are strengthening in every area.
