President Ersin Tatar received a delegation representing the World Health Tourism Council headed by the President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council and the National Unity Party (UBP) Lefkoşa MP Ahmet Savaşan on Thursday.

During the meeting, President Tatar informed the members on the Turkish Cypriot side’s vision for a two-state solution.

He also stressed the importance of health and tourism, highlighting the investments made by the TRNC in this regard.

Tatar said that the TRNC attached great importance to health, adding that it had the best hotels and healthcare investments in the region.

Stating that Cyprus was the most important island in the Eastern Mediterranean and a global centre, Tatar stressed that the TRNC should be the first country to come to mind in the region when it comes to health.

He said that they were working towards achieving that goal.

The President also expressed that tourism and health were important service sectors together and congratulated the President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council Ahmet Savaşan for keeping this issue on the agenda.

Also speaking at the meeting, Ahmet Savaşan explained the membership process of the TRNC in the World Health Tourism Council.

Savaşan said that they were carrying out initiatives that will shape health tourism worldwide as well as make the TRNC more visible in the international arena.

Following the meeting, President Tatar presented the delegation with a certificate of appreciation and a book detailing his work during his term in office.
