Tatar receives Yağmuralan villagers

President Ersin Tatar said that the Yağmuralan village is an important village in the history of the Turkish Cypriot national struggle.

The president made the statement while receiving villagers from the Yağmuralan village.

Speaking during the visit, Mr Atalar stated that the Yağmuralan village is a village of great importance in the history of the Turkish Cypriot struggle for existence and informed President Tatar about what happened in the past.

Touching on the Cyprus issue, Tatar emphasized that a settlement in Cyprus can only be possible with a two-state agreement.

Noting that official negotiations can only begin with the acceptance of the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people, President Tatar said, “Turkish Cypriots are independent and will always protect their own state.”
