President Ersin Tatar gave important messages on Cyprus during his meeting with officials of the Cyprus TMT Fighters Association.

Pointing to the importance of the will of the Turkish Resistance Organization in the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people, Tatar said, “It is sovereignty and statehood that will save us.”

President Ersin Tatar received members of the board of directors of the Cyprus TMT Fighters Association headed by Celal Bayar.

Speaking during the meeting that was realized at the Presidency, the President of the Cyprus TMT Fighters Association Celal Bayar explained the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people from the past to the present.

Stating that similar problems are experienced in every country in the world, Bayar emphasized that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is free despite the difficulties it has experienced.

President Ersin Tatar for his part drew attention to the importance of the will of the Turkish Resistance Organization in the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Tatar stated that it is everyone’s responsibility not to lose the fighters spirit and to pass it on to the young generations.

He also commemorated all the martyrs and veterans who lost their lives in the attacks of December 21, 1963.

“The struggle museum in the TMT building is very valuable for us. People coming to our country and our young people will visit there and see the struggle of the people of Cyprus,” said Tatar.

Stating that the TRNC has an important role in the Eastern Mediterranean, Tatar said “We cannot solve the Cyprus issue without Türkiye. With the sensitivity in the developing geopolitical balances, the value and national value of the TRNC has increased. The Motherland, us, the blue homeland and the sky homeland have become a national state as a whole” said Tatar.

He said that the TRNC is a success story of the Turkish world.

“It is sovereignty and statehood that will save us. The Turkish Cypriot people deserve an honorable life,” said President Tatar.
