President Ersin Tatar issued a message to mark the 25th of November Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
In his message President Tatar said, “We cannot and should not have any tolerance for violence against women. States should make maximum efforts in this direction.”
Noting that violence against women is a humanitarian problem that threatens social peace, President Tatar said, “Violence against women is a betrayal of our sacred beings, our mothers and humanity. There can be no justification, no excuse for violence against women. Violence against any living being, especially against human beings and women, is never acceptable in any way.”
He also emphasized that there can be no tolerance in violence against women and said that states should make maximum efforts in this direction.
He also said that necessary measures should be taken and deterrent penalties should be imposed to prevent violence against women.
Tatar also emphasized that he will always stand by all women in their struggle to protect their right to a dignified, free and equal life.
