President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar received a delegation from the Çukurovalılar Association, led by its President Sabahattin Kurt.

During the meeting, Tatar emphasized the significance of Türkiye’s support for the Turkish Cypriot side, particularly in the upcoming Geneva talks.

He reiterated that the TRNC remains committed to peace, security, and stability in the region and that a state-to-state agreement is essential for a lasting solution.

Highlighting the importance of Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s participation in the Geneva negotiations, President Ersin Tatar stated that this would provide a significant boost to the Turkish Cypriot position.

Tatar stressed that for over 60 years, two separate states have existed on the island, and any alternative arrangement is unrealistic. He underlined the necessity of maintaining Türkiye’s guarantor status and military presence for the security of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Tatar reaffirmed that Türkiye remains the strongest supporter of the two-state solution, which he described as a source of hope for the future of the Turkish Cypriot people.

He reiterated that until a comprehensive agreement is reached, the TRNC will continue to support initiatives that benefit both communities on the island.

He also highlighted the work of the 12 Technical Committees, which strive to enhance cooperation in various fields for the benefit of both peoples.

During the meeting, President Tatar also praised the Çukurovalılar Association for its dedication and contributions, noting that its work plays a role in promoting the TRNC internationally.

He also emphasized the importance of Türkiye’s collaboration with institutions in various regions, which contributes to raising awareness of the TRNC.

Çukurovalılar Association President Sabahattin Kurt expressed his full support for Tatar’s two-state policy, emphasizing their commitment to standing with the TRNC.
