Tatar visits Akdoğan Polatpaşa High School

President Ersin Tatar has said that it was the government’s duty to promote and strengthen the state, its economic structure, and entrust it to younger generations.

“Make good use of opportunities, work hard, and prepare well for the future,” Tatar said as he addressed students at the Akdoğan Polatpaşa High School on Thursday.

According to a statement from Office of the President, President Ersin Tatar who addressed students at the Akdoğan Polatpaşa High School highlighted the importance of time management, education, and personal development.

President Tatar recounted the struggle of the Turkish Cypriots over centuries, leading to the establishment of their own state, which now enjoys peace, security, and tranquillity.

He also explained that the aim of the Greek Cypriot side was the elimination of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

“Our duty is to protect our state and our people,” he said, listing the achievements and transformations that the TRNC has undergone over the years.

Tatar pointed out that the TRNC has a tourism capacity of 30,000 beds and conducts promotional activities abroad.

Additionally, he noted that the country welcomes students from 144 different countries for higher education and has academic staff from over 100 countries.

President Tatar discussed how developments in communication and transportation have made the world smaller, allowing Turkish Cypriots to take their place in the world and be a part of the international community.

He emphasized the value of the TRNC in the Eastern Mediterranean region and the opportunities in tourism, higher education, agriculture, industry, and the service sector, thanks to the government’s investments in infrastructure.

President Tatar also spoke about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and staying away from bad habits, emphasizing the importance of sports and teamwork.

He concluded by saying, “Our duty is to promote and strengthen the state and entrust it to you. The state provides you with opportunities to improve yourselves. Educators are working hard to guide you. I have confidence in our youth. Your self-confidence and education will lead you to success. Your abilities and achievements will guide you. Make good use of opportunities, work hard, and prepare well for the future. It is our hope that you support each other and walk towards the future with success.”
