President Ersin Tatar on Monday inaugurated the Tatarstan Culture and Historical Art Exhibition, which consists of works promoting the culture, history and art of Tatarstan, held at the Near East University Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.
In his speech at the exhibition, Tatar expressed his happiness over opening such a meaningful exhibition and referred to the importance of ties with Tatarstan.
The President also stressed that the opening of such an exhibition in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), where historic works of art were collected, was proof of the existence of Turkish Cypriots in the world.
“Look at how our culture and language from the past are similar to each other,” Tatar said, adding that “we share our struggle with each other in unity of heart. Being an artist is not easy. The Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said, ‘anyone can be a politician, a historian, but not an artist.’ Turkish Cypriots will continue to exist in the world.”
