Efforts to preserve cultural heritage continue intensively.
The restoration work on the historic Gökağaç-Alektora village mosque, fountain, and school has been completed.
The Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage continues its efforts.
According to the Co-Chair of the Bi-Communal Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage operating under the Presidency, Ali Tuncay, the committee has completed preservation work on the historic Gökağaç (Alektora) village mosque, fountain, and the adjacent historic school building in the Limassol region.
Tuncay also noted that, in honour of the project’s completion, a visit to the mosque and school was organized.
Participants included the Co-Chairs and members of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage, representatives of the European Commission, the United Nations Development Program, and Turkish Cypriots originally from Alektora.
Additionally, Tuncay stated that the restoration work on Kalavason Mosque and Tera Mosque, also carried out by the committee in South Cyprus, has been completed.
Visits to these sites are planned in the coming weeks.
