Strong gale force winds wreaked havoc on the island last night and led to some damage across the island.
The air temperature is 5 to 7 degrees below seasonal norms.
According to information released by the Director of the Meteorology Department Sinan Güneş, winds, which blew at 75-88 km an hour yesterday is expected to decrease its effect today and drop to 39-49 km/h.
Unfavourable weather conditions also caused damage in some areas.
Due to the severe storm that affected the island, electric wires were broken, power failures occurred in many regions, trees fell on the road and roofs flew.
Police shared information that the roof of a workplace on the Alsancak – Girne Ring Road was blown into the road due to the severe storm.
For drivers travelling from Alsancak direction to Girne direction, they were directed into the city from the Girne American University roundabout.
On the other hand, the first snow fell on Troodos Mountains yesterday.
