The 10th Presidential People’s Council meeting was held on Thursday

President Ersin Tatar on Thursday praised the work carried out by presidents of sports federations to lift or ease the embargoes imposed on Turkish Cypriots in the field of sports.

Tatar also said that he will continue to support all efforts to overcome the problems experienced by sports federations.

The 10th meeting of the Presidential People’s Council was held on Thursday with the participation of the presidents and representatives of 13 sports federations in the TRNC.

Presidents and representatives from the Marksmanship Federation, the Wrestling Federation, the Hunting Federation, the Basketball Federation, the Sports Federation for All, the Equestrian Federation, the Kickboxing Federation, the Boxing Federation, the Taekwondo Federation, the Tennis Federation, the Football Tennis Federation, the University Sports Federation and the Sailing Motor and Rowing Federation attended the meeting chaired by President Ersin Tatar.

Speaking during the meeting, Tatar expressed his continued support to help overcome the obstacles and problems being experienced by the various sports federations.

Highlighting the importance of unity and solidarity in order to overcome these problems, the president added that being able to participate in sports events both internationally and under the roof of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will contribute greatly to the promotion of the TRNC.

Expressing his appreciation for the work carried out by the sports federations to lift the embargoes applied in the field of sports, Tatar listened to the problems experienced.

Stating that he will continue to meet with all non-governmental organizations, he thanked the federations for accepting his invitation.

Also speaking at the meeting, the presidents and representatives of the sports federations expressed their gratitude to President Tatar for organizing the meeting.

They highlighted the importance of being able to voice and convey their problems to the TRNC authorities.
