Vasfi Kuni, a student in the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema at Near East University’s Faculty of Communication and an employee of BRT, returned with an award from the “Street Food Film Festival” held in Türkiye with his documentary “Cyprus Street Flavours.”
The documentary “Cyprus Street Flavours” won the “Honourable Mention Special Award.”
The award ceremony for the “Street Food Film Festival,” organized with the contributions of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in cooperation with the Radio and Television Supreme Council, Aydın Adnan Menderes University, and Erciyes University, was held at the Bornova Culture and Arts Centre.
The documentary “Cyprus Street Flavours,” filmed by Vasfi Kuni, a student at Near East University’s Faculty of Communication, was one of nine awarded works, receiving the “Honourable Mention Special Award.”
The project coordinator for the award-winning documentary was Ülkü Ateş, and the project advisor was the Dean of the Faculty of Communication at Near East University, Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap.
The documentary, which focuses on the unique street flavours of Cyprus, details the preparation processes of local delicacies such as stuffed cookies, starch pudding with rose water, kayık pastry, and hellim pie.
