The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency will raise the value of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with its new projects to be brought to life in the period ahead, the head of the Agency Serkan Kayalar said in an interview to the TAK news agency on Thursday.

Kayalar said that the agency’s Lefkoşa bureau opened three years ago has carried out numerous projects which have contributed to the development of the country and benefitted the Turkish Cypriot people.

Speaking to the state-run TAK news agency, the head of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) Serkan Kayalar said that the TRNC had great potential and that they attached great importance to projects that will unleash that potential.

Pointing out that TİKA’s bureau in Lefkoşa was amongst the newest of the 62 offices the agency had in 60 different countries, Kayalar said that the projects it carried out included the areas of education, health, development and fund-raising.

The agency’s TRNC director Kayalar said they attached great importance to youth projects that aimed to strengthen their sense of identity and belonging to the country.

He also praised the support given to TİKA by the government, explaining that cooperation and coordination was vital for the success of projects.

“We’ve had some great feedback from the projects we have been implementing.”
