The Cyprus TMT Freedom Fighters’ Association on Thursday slammed the Commander of the Greek Cypriot National Guard Demoktritos Zevakis who said he was impatiently waiting for the day the Greek Cypriot navy and so-called Republic of Cyprus flags would fly over a reunified Cyprus.

In a written statement, the Vice President of the association Çetin Serez reminded that the 1960 Republic of Cyprus had been destroyed by the Greek Cypriots.

Serez emphasized that the Turkish Armed Forces and TMT freedom fighters had saved the Turkish Cypriots from entire annihilation.

Pointing out that Zarvakis had presented the Greek Cypriot Police Directorate with a painting depicting an imaginary scene where Greek flag was being hoisted at Girne Castle, Sezer stated, “You do not possess the power, strength or courage to hoist your flag or lower ours at Girne Castle or anywhere else within the borders of the TRNC.”
