Today is March 27 World Theatre Day.

A number of events are being held to mark the annual occasion.

Plays across the country will be opening their curtains free-of-charge in celebration of the day.

As part of events marking March 27 World Theatre Day, the Lefkoşa Municipal Theatre will be staging its one act-comedy “Paraya Hayır” (No to Money) at 8pm.

While the State Theatre’s newest play, “Kuş Albay” (The Bird Colonel) will be staged at the Lefkoşa Atatürk Culture Centre at 8pm, the Girne Municipal Theatre Studio will be staging its play “Bir Delinin Hatıra Defteri” (The Diary of a Mad Man) at 8:30pm.

Entrance to all plays will be free and seats will be on a first come first serve basis.
