The Met Office said temperatures will rise to around 33 degrees Celsius inland on Wednesday with an increased amount of dust in the atmosphere.

Today and tomorrow, temperatures will be noticeably above seasonal averages, hovering around 37 degrees inland, 34 in coastal areas and 31 in the mountains.

Dust will also linger in the atmosphere until Friday, with concentrations expected to be elevated at times.

Winds will be north– to south-easterly, light to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort and at times strong, up to 5 Beaufort.

The sea will be slightly rough.

Overnight will remain partly cloudy with temperatures dropping to 17C inland and 19C on the coast and in the higher mountains. Winds will remain north- to southeasterly, light to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday will remain partly cloudy mainly with temperatures remaining high through Thursday and a drop is expected for Friday.
