Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre completed his visit to Hungary on Sunday.
The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre attended the Great Hun-Turkic Congress, which takes place every two years in the Bugac region of Hungary.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus also took part in the congress, which took place on the Bugac Plain and where the states of the Turkic world were represented, with its flag.
Speaking about the event, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre pointed to the importance of the unity of Turkic States and said that they are proud that the TRNC flag was represented in the event.
Reminding that calls have been made for the further strengthening of Turkic unity, Töre noted that they have once again seen how far back the origins of the Turks are based on the past with the demonstrations and stories told.
Töre also attended the round table meeting organized in cooperation with the Organization of Turkic States, the International Organization of Turkic Culture and the Turkic Academy within the framework of the congress.
Speaking at the congress, Töre emphasized the importance of the cooperation of Turkic states and noted that the TRNC has great expectations from the Turkic world.
Töre expressed the hope that relations with Azerbaijan, which have gained more momentum recently, would set an example for other Turkic states and pointed out that Turkish Cypriots are an integral part of the Turkic world.
He stated that the TRNC is in a strategic position for the Turkic world in the Eastern Mediterranean and he hoped that Turkic states and communities and affiliated institutions would have closer relations with the TRNC and the Turkish Cypriot people.
