The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre emphasized that relations with Azerbaijan will continue.

Announcing that the Azerbaijan-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Relations Working Group will visit the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in May, Töre also noted that the Greek Cypriot Administration’s efforts to prevent the visit will not yield results.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre criticized the attitude of the Greek Cypriot Administration of South Cyprus during an event he attended on the weekend.

Töre reacted to the Speaker of the Greek Cypriot House of Representatives Anitta Demetriou who send a letter of protest to Azerbaijan.

He said that despite all of the Greek Cypriot sides efforts to prevent obstacles in the way of Azerbaijan and TRNC relations the Azerbaijan-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Relations Working Group and the Turkish Grant National Assembly Diplomatic Group will visit the TRNC in May.

Also criticizing the military exercises that were realized between South Cyprus and Israel, Töre said, “the Greek Cypriots have taken it upon themselves to play with fire”.

Stating that European values and UN Declarations of Human Rights have no meaning, Töre pointed out that the British Sovereign Bases in Cyprus were also being used to launch attacks in the Middle East and said, “They have almost turned the Eastern Mediterranean into a war zone. We will continue on our way by protecting the Blue Homeland, the Motherland and Azerbaijan.”
