Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly, Zorlu Töre, expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, for his efforts to increase international recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

During his official visits to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Speaker Kurtulmuş called for greater recognition of the TRNC, a move that Töre deeply appreciated.

According to a statement from the TRNC Parliament, Töre emphasized the significance of the Cyprus issue as a national cause for the Turkish people.

He expressed pride and satisfaction that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other state officials consistently raised the issue on various international platforms.

Töre commended Speaker Kurtulmuş for advocating the rightful place of the Turkish Cypriot people in the world during his diplomatic engagements.

He acknowledged that Türkiye’s unwavering support under all circumstances provides moral and strategic strength to the Turkish Cypriots.

Highlighting the importance of solidarity with Türkiye, Töre stated, “Our greatest assurance is our motherland, Türkiye. With this spirit of solidarity, I believe we will secure our place among the Turkish States as part of the Turkish nation.”
