Töre gives conference on Cyprus issue at Pamukkale University

Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre is in Denizli this week and carried out a variety of contacts.

He visited the Denizli Governor Ömer Faruk Coşkun.

Speaking during the visit Töre stated that he was very pleased to be in Denizli and stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is the homeland of the entire Turkish nation and added that Türkiye’s strong presence is vital.

Stating that they will never be separated from motherland Türkiye or the Turkish nation, Töre reiterated that Türkiye and the Turkish army are a part of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Töre also visited the Denizli Municipality and then went to the Pamukkale University and met with Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kutluhan.

Parliamentary speaker Töre also gave a conference on Cyprus at the Pamukkale University.

Speaking here Töre explained the existence and struggle of Turkish Cypriots on the island and stated that after the Ottoman Empire, Turkish soldiers were expected to arrive on the island for many years, but that finally in July 1974, they were reunited with the Turkish soldiers at dawn.

He commemorated the Mehmetçiks and mujahids, especially the government officials of the period, who contributed to the Peace Operation with gratitude, and said that the Turkish Cypriots came to life again with the Peace Operation and that it was the beginning of the road leading to the establishment of the Republic.

Pointing out that the federation negotiations between the two sides have not yet yielded any results, Töre stated that at the point reached today, there is no other solution other than a two separate state solution.

Stating that the Cyprus problem is a national cause not only for the Turkish Cypriots but also for the entire Turkish nation, Töre reiterated that the Turkish Cypriots are a part of the Turkish nation.

Evaluating the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, parliamentary speaker Töre said that there are circles that are uncomfortable with the presence of the TRNC and Türkiye in the blue homeland, and that they will continue to fight with determination without compromising their rights in the region.
