Acting President Zorlu Töre emphasized that the reforms to be realized in the field of women’s rights are vital for women to protect their existence safely and effectively all over the world.
Issuing a message to mark March 8th International Women’s Day, Acting President Zorlu Töre stated that March 8 is of great importance in terms of improving the political and social awareness of women on the basis of human rights in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and the world.
“Our women, who represent love, sacrifice, productivity and sensitivity, are the cornerstones of a healthy and productive society,” Töre said, emphasizing that women should make significant contributions to society in every field and take an active part in all areas of life.
“On International Women’s Day, women’s problems are expressed, experiences are shared, women’s expectations from society are emphasized, and thus one of the best examples of solidarity between women is exhibited. With these feelings and thoughts, I sincerely celebrate the International Women’s Day of our women who add meaning to the world with their efforts, loving hearts and sacrifices, and wish them health and happiness” said Töre.
