Töre paid courtesy visit to Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Serim

Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre paid a courtesy visit to the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Yasin Ekrem Serim.

Speaking during the visit Turkish ambassador to Lefkoşa Yasin Ekrem Serim expressed his delight at receiving the Acting President Töre at the Embassy and stated that he held meetings with all segments of society after taking office.

Ambassador Serim wished Töre success in the work of the Assembly that is to be opened in the new term and stated that the legislative year will make important contributions to both the infrastructure and superstructure of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Acting President Töre for his part said that they will work in unity with Ambassador Serim to glorify the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Töre also stated that the phrase “the world is bigger than five” means Türkiye and the glorious Turkish army for them and that they are fighting for this cause.

Stating that he has been the President of the Republic’s Assembly for two and a half years and that there will soon be a presidential election, Töre said, “I hope for the best.”

He stated that the Turkish presence in Cyprus cannot continue without Türkiye and that the national cause must be defended with the Motherland.

Noting that they are always grateful to Türkiye and that they always act united with Türkiye, Töre said, “The withdrawal of the Turkish army from the island would be suicide and God should not show us those days”.

Meanwhile as part of his visits to state and government officials, parties, societies and associations, the newly appointed Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Yasin Ekrem Serim visited second president Mehmet Ali Talat.

TRNC and Türkiye relations together with regional developments were discussed during the visit.
