Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre welcomed with great pleasure and pride the speech of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations.

Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre issued a statement regarding the speech made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the UN General Assembly.

In his statement, Töre said, “While pointing out that 50 years have passed since the Cyprus Peace Operation and that peace has prevailed on the island since then, I think that he gave a very clear message to the circles that want to create different perceptions over the operation.”

“Stating that it is the Turkish side that strives for a fair and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem, Mr. Erdoğan announced to the whole world from the UN rostrum that the federation process in Cyprus is over. Turkish President Erdoğan, who invited the international community to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) once again, has interpreted the just demands and feelings of our people” said Töre.
