Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre said that priority in the construction sector should be given to local contractors and those from Motherland Türkiye.

He made the statement while receiving the Türkiye Construction Contractors Confederation.

The Speaker of the Republican Assembly Zorlu Töre received the President of the Confederation of Türkiye’s Construction Contractors Tahir Tellioğlu and his accompanying delegation.

Speaking during the visit the Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus can be a centre of attraction for Türkiye with its 85 million people and underlined that the TRNC is a very attractive place with its climate and tourism potential.

Expressing concern regarding the developments taking place between Israel and Palestine, Töre said that Israel is attacking innocent Palestinian people.

Also drawing attention to the recent increase in land sales in the country, Töre warned everyone to be careful.

“Cyprus is located within the ‘Arzu Mevud’ lands. The promised lands of the Jews. The mudjahid (Turkish Cypriot fighters) and the Mehmetçik (Turkish fighters) took these lands and paid for it with their lives. We will never give up on these lands” said Töre.

The President of the Türkiye Construction Contractors Confederation Tahir Tellioğlu for his part said that they are ready to invest in the TRNC.
