The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre said the establishment of a state by the Muslim Turkish Cypriot people in the Eastern Mediterranean is very important for the Islamic and Turkic world.

“Today we have an independent state, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is the greatest assurance for us,” he said.

The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre, who is in Algeria representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which is an observer member of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, evaluated his contacts.

According to the statement made by the Assembly, Töre stated that holding the conference in Algeria is of particular importance as Algeria has faced a great genocide, just like some Muslim countries around the world.

Reminding that the main agenda of the conference was Palestine, the occupation of Jerusalem, the attacks on Masjid al-Aqsa and the ugly provocations against the Qur’an and Islam, Töre stated that they were representing the TRNC under the name of “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”.

Noting that he had held a variety of contacts with many speakers of parliament and particularly the President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop and gave interviews to media organizations from the Islamic world, Töre emphasized that it is extremely important to take part in the conference under the name of TRNC.

Stating that the Turkish Cypriot people were subjected to genocide and forced to migrate, Töre stated that the Turkish Cypriot people were saved by the Greek and Greek Cypriot duo’s dreams of ENOSİS, joining the island with Greece, thanks to the motherland Türkiye and that now the Turkish Cypriot people can look to the future with confidence.

Stating that they informed the representatives of many countries regarding the Cyprus issue, Töre informed everyone that now there is a real peace in Cyprus thanks to the Turkish army.

He also noted that the establishment of a state by the Turkish Cypriot people, who are Muslims in the Eastern Mediterranean, adds great value to the Islamic and Turkic World.
