The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre, who has been holding a series of contacts in Türkiye, reacted to the fact that the series, which distorts the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation and makes propaganda for the Greek Cypriot side, will be broadcast on a movie platform as of September 20.

Speaking to BRT in Aksaray, Türkiye, Töre stated that it should be well known that Cyprus would have turned into Crete or would have been one of the 12 islands if the 1974 Peace Operation had not taken place and said that it should not be forgotten that the operation brought peace to the island.

He also referred to the resistance put up until 1974 and gave examples from history and stated that if the Turkish army had not come to the island as a guarantor country, massacres would have continued among the Greek Cypriots themselves.

“If this movie platform wants to make a series, let it see these facts. If it wants to make a series, let it go to Gaza. Let them see the massacred people, children, press members, destroyed buildings, schools and hospitals,” said Töre.

Töre who completed his contacts in Aksaray and then moved on to Artvin with his accompanying delegation.
